Shower of Friendship

First Sunday of August always brings the air of love, affection and cheers among friends and this day becomes very special not only for youths but for adults and old people also. Yes i am talking about Friendship day(FD).

It is gaining more popularity day by day among teenagers, as well as adults. This year FD has been welcomed with the showers and cool breeze which added fresh angle to the mood. Markets were full of enthusiastics on the eve of FD busy in purchasing expensive gifts for their friends and as always friendship band was getting importance above all. Despite of water logging and traffic jams in Delhi, streets were busy with people bargaining with shopkeepers, enjoying chaats and window shopping with friends.

Even the parents and the grandparents caught by this virus and with full zeal, they are celebrating this day with their loved ones. Yesterday i found that an old lady was busy in picking up gifts for her grandchildren and asking for opinion from her husband. It really amused me and take me back to my childhood when it was not that popular. At that time, college students used to celebrate this among frnds only and school kids purchased frndship band hiding from their parents. But time has changed now.Now-a-days, instead of one day, celebration goes on for a week.

But i love to celebrate this day with chocolates, a token of frndship. I share it with my friends and if it is not possible to meet, then i send it through email :). One gift i always give to my friends on FD is TRUST.

So trust your friends and believe in them because time might be wrong but friends can not be. Therefore make friends and spread joy and masti all around. Have fun.

HAPPY FRIENDSHIP DAY

A journey towards dream...

DREAM that everyone wants to see, dream that everyone loves to share, dream that everyone has. But few of that "everyone" follow the path towards their dream. The path full of difficulties, catastrophes, ups and downs but they never afraid of these obstacles because their eyes are focussed to their goal.

I have a dream too, i have seen a dream too, i want to follow it too. Within short span of time after college, i had a chance to come across the same obstacles. One thing i observed, whenever you try to go out of the way, people tends to pull you. You are forced to do what they followed, you are pinned down to obey what they have written. But i know what i have to do.

Besieged by society evils, i know it is not going to easy to reach Final Destination. However, i read somewhere: "when you are sure with the destination, god would lay down a path for you". I have chosen my path, now with my heads up looking in the sky as if asking "hey god! show me the path".

Despite of failures, a ray of hope is still there which fulfill my desires. Till now dark tunnel is going but every tunnel has to end somewhere and then comes a whole new world.

Always listen to heart and use your mind, only then you can add feathers to you cap. I am loaded with all the ammunition to blow up monsters stopping me to chase my dream. My dream is mine and no one can steal it.

I am on a journey towards my dream.....

Trip to Mount Shasta

I was in the lap of nature last weekend. It was planned on Wednesday that we are going Mount Shasta(M.S.), California and since then i was really excited to capture some good photographs. Because of my love for photography and nature , i started dreaming how we gonna make poses and what we gonna do.

The day arrive, Friday evening. We started our journey to M.S.. It was quite sunny but windy outside. A drive of 4.5 hrs had begun in 8 seater Odyssey after office hour leaving behind all work, traffic, and tensions. After taking some exits we were on a freeway but to our surprise there was so much traffic, its seems everyone was heading to M.S.. But after few miles, i don't know, where all the traffic gone. Freeway was indeed free.

With one break at Burger King, we arrived at Redding, California, 40 miles away from M.S. and stayed with uncle's frnd. After having dinner, i went to bed and sewing plans for next day visit with my eyes closed.

Yes finally we were ready to cover last 40 miles. Redding to M.S. was really a eye catcher. With green mountains, curvy roads and stream of water along with freeway, everything seems so perfect that i lost my senses for sometime. I just remember click, click ,click.... Sometime later, we were on a bridge over lake with green color water as clear as crystal. Soon 3 lane road became 1 lane surrounding mountain M.S. and then going 3000ft, there was snow all around. Wooow it seems someone painted with green and white everywhere and then we parked the car and started playing in snow. Kids were making Snow-man and i was capturing "kodak-moment" with my SLR.

Soon we were tired and moved back to car grab some heat :) along with "Haldiram's Bhujia", Coke and other snacks. Thereafter, it was now turn to visit Mount Shasta Dam. Really a great place to visit. With mountains all around, this dam is power house for nearby cities. If you are acrophobic, be cautious ! Others can get a breathtaking view from the middle of the DAM. My eyes rolled over for a second when i looked down. But i tell you the view from there couldn't be expressed in words. You can easily high mountains divided by blue stream and green farmlands nearby that stream. I wish i could spend a week long vaccation there. But because of time constraint, i bid good bye and moved to next destination.

Sun-dial bridge at Turtle Bay, Redding. The Sundial Bridge is a cantilever spar cable-stayed bridge for bicycles and pedestrians that spans the Sacramento River in Redding, California. For more information you can refer
This has significance on 21st June. As on this day you can figure out time from 12 noon to 3:30 PM by the shadow of this white dial.

Visiting last destination of the day, we reached home with hardly any energy left. Satisfied with the trip, we all retired for the day. But because of snow-storm next day we missed caves and some other gud stuff.

On the whole, this trip was a memorable one, with so many beautiful sights and breathtaking views. If you ask me i always prefer to visit places with natural beauty. And thats the one reason i really cant forget this trip. If i get a chance i will visit this place again.

Amazing winters!

Winters, the name itself is enough to create chill inside you. But since childhood, this season is my favorite among all. Winter is the coldest season of the year, between autumn and spring, marked by the shortest days and longest nights.
It is chilly outside and you are sitting in a comforter, enjoying your favorite music over coffee. Covered from head to toe, trying to get warmth from room heater or bonfire is the common sight. But there is lot more waiting for you when you come out in winter sun to explore the beauty of Delhi.
People are running to catch the bus so that they can reach office on time and near to your daily bus-stop a man making omelet, serving it with hot tea. A smell of hot peanuts and “pakoras” is hard to resist. Moreover, this is the perfect time to burn some calories and get into shape

As a photographer, I really like this season because of varieties of moods and colors. There is lot to capture: fog and mist, sunlight coming through it makes a nice patter, people in overcoat, wearing scarf and colorful dresses, and then morning dew on grass and vehicles parked outside.

I miss delhi and its winter. Hope will get to my place soon. Till then you eat, play and enjoy winters.
